Braman Motorcars ended its Toys for Kids campaign on December 21st with the delivery of toys to a multitude of outlets. In all, over 2,500 toys brought smiles to children from 1 year olds through their teens to help brighten up Christmas for those less fortunate. The toys were collected at Braman dealerships in West Palm Beach and Jupiter including BMW, MINI, Porsche, Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
“Running through the DNA of the Braman organization has, and always will be the spirit of giving back to our community” stated Stephen Grossman, General Manager of Braman Motorcars. “We support worthy causes all year round, but during Christmas the joy of bringing toys to kids and witnessing smiles you can see and the laughter you can hear just brings everything we do into up-close and humanistic clarity” he said.
The annual Drive to End Hunger and Toys for Kid’s Drives are always the largest undertaking of the company. Normally, community support is distributed in the form of a check written to the organizations who then utilize the funds to provide assistance as they see fit. But with this annual campaign, Braman team members and customers get involved directly towards the collection and distribution of gifts and emotions run high.
This year, both campaigns shattered their intended goal. For toys, the goal of 1,200 toys was more than doubled with over 2,500 toys getting delivered to The United Way, Quantum House, Northmore Elementary School, the WIRK Holiday Home Invasion and The Rebirth Project’s “Handfuls of Hope” giveaway. Any remaining toys that do not find their way into the hands of a child were flown to Puerto Rico and Haiti by Federal Express. As for the 50,000 meals projected, 77,200 actually got donated.
During the beginning of the holiday season, over 77,000 meals were provided to Feeding America and its local chapter Feeding South Florida through the BMW Drive to End Hunger which included customers taking test drives and Braman donating 200 meals for every drive taken.“Of all the things we do throughout the year, this is the most rewarding.” stated Celine Pelofi, Braman Motorcars Brand Ambassador. “It’s such a privilege to witness the surprise and joy on a child’s face when they receive a gift they never expected. I’m so proud to be representing Braman Motorcars because they continue to give me the opportunity to work with the community and touch the lives of those less fortunate.”
“The Braman BMW Test Drive to End Hunger campaign was a great example of how to raise awareness about the issue of hunger in a fun and unique way.” said Paco Vélez, President and CEO of Feeding South Florida. “Thanks to Braman Motorcars efforts, we can provide 77,200 meals for the families and children facing food insecurity this holiday season in South Florida.”
